After alienating many conservatives with his past comments regarding the religious right, Arizona Senator John McCain is attempting to bridge the gap between himself and a significant group of his constituents. These attempts have met with a cold response from Focus on the Family's Dr. James Dobson. Dr. Dobson said in no uncertain terms that he would never support Senator McCain's Presidential ambitions.

McCain's comments in the past show that he is not truly one of us, and Dr. Dobson is correct to hope that we don't get stuck with him. However, compared to democrats who don't even try to make amends for their wrongs to Christians, he is a much better choice.
On another note, that article was absolutely wrong to be attributing interracial dating bans to conservatives, and then making it sound as if we have been beaten. The whole concept of "race" was created by Darwin, and is completely fallacious. McCain was right to speak out boldly against it, and the college was right to purge that bit of atheism off their campus.
Interesting to know.
